Freelance writer/communications adviser based in Fukushima City, Fukushima prefecture
Having worked in the field of PR/communications for several foreign-affiliated institutions in Tokyo for over 20 years, I moved to Fukushima prefecture in January 2014 to help Namie Town, one of the local municipalities affected by the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters in 2011. I worked there as a communication specialist to support, improve and facilitate their communications not only with the evacuated former residents but with the rest of Japan and the world. With termination of my term with Namie at the end of March 2017, when the evacuation order was lifted for part of the town, I started freelancing based in Fukushima City.
My clients now include both NPOs and commercial enterprises, and my work covers interview articles, corporate brochure/website texts, press releases, survey reports and so on. I also edit/rewrite various texts as well as translate Japanese/English documents.
